How Minder checks professionals and guides

Choosing a therapy session fee is a practice decision, not a search for one “correct” Armenian market price. A fee needs to be understandable to clients and sustainable for the practitioner. Before you publish a number, work out what it covers, how it appears beside the appointment, and what happens when plans change. This worksheet helps you make those decisions without relying on an invented national average.

Calculate the real cost of a booked hour

Begin with the time that a session uses beyond the conversation itself. List preparation, documentation, payment administration, supervision, room or video costs, and the gaps between appointments. Decide how many sessions you can deliver in a typical week without crowding out those tasks. Your target income divided only by face-to-face hours can understate the time your service requires.

Use a simple worksheet: monthly practice costs + desired professional income + a reserve for leave and cancellations = the amount your practice needs to cover. Divide that by a conservative estimate of completed, paid sessions per month. The result is a starting point for judgment, not a required fee or a prediction of demand. Recheck taxes, legal obligations and any payment charges for your situation with qualified local advisers.

Decide what the displayed fee means

  • Specify the session length and whether the quoted price is for individual, couple or group work.
  • State the currency. For people arranging therapy across borders, do not assume that “dram” or an unlabeled number is obvious.
  • Explain when payment is requested and who receives it. Do not promise a particular payment method until you have configured and tested it.
  • Make any lower-cost places, introductory arrangements or free first sessions explicit, including their limits.
  • Write the cancellation and rescheduling terms before a client makes a booking.

The BACP guidance on counselling contracts treats fees and other practical terms as part of an informed agreement. This is a UK reference and does not set prices or legal rules for Armenia. For the client’s perspective, see Minder’s guide to comparing therapy fees in Armenia.

Test three client scenarios before publishing

A new client: Can they see the session fee and duration without sending a private message? A client who needs to move a session: Can they understand the deadline and the process? A client comparing providers: Can they tell whether your quoted fee covers the format they need? If any answer is unclear, revise the page copy and your agreement before opening more slots.

How Minder fits into the pricing decision

Minder’s professional profile setup includes a currency, an individual session fee and weekly availability. The price you enter is shown alongside your bookable service when your profile becomes public. Optional service types and payment settings can be configured separately. Avoid treating the profile field as your entire fee policy: the client still needs clear information about duration, payment, cancellation and any special arrangement. Review the current practitioner agreement and the professional guide before using the booking tools.

Should you copy another therapist’s price?

Another practitioner’s published fee may help you understand what clients see, but it cannot tell you their costs, training, session length or availability. Do not infer that a higher or lower number proves clinical quality. Write down your own assumptions, compare a few genuine local offers with like-for-like duration and format, then set a fee you can explain without apology or pressure.

Once you have a clear fee and booking policy, create a professional account on Minder. The weekly availability guide helps you turn that price into a schedule clients can actually use.
